The "alleged" terrorists who will go on trial for their roles in planning 9/11 intend to plead "not guilty."
Why? So they can use the trial as a platform to criticize American foreign policy, of course!
According to a report from the Associated Press via Boston.com, Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali, Waleed bin Attash, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Mustafa Ahmad al-Hawsawi and Ramzi Binalshibh intend to enter their not guilty plea to "explain what happened and why they did it."
These five defendants are going to enter a court room, enter a plea to deny their guilt and then spend the entire time illustrating why they think America is evil and why they attacked us--and the Obama Administration thinks this is a good idea?!
So far, there is nothing good about the prospect of this trial. In addition to this, it's going to be in New York. How are they going to get any kind of impartial jury pool there? Plus, President Obama essentially said that these "suspects" were tortured when he signed the order to close Guantanamo Bay and torture ban on January 22 of this year. There isn't a court in this land that will allow a conviction to stand where the defendants have been "tortured."
We could conceivably see a situation at the end of this trial where these terrorists are set free.
Having criminal trials for these terrorists is wrong. There won't be any kind of justice served by these show trials--and the ultimate insult?
You and I will be paying a lot of money for it. Court costs, increased security, expenses...it's all coming out of our pockets.
How is any of that "justice?"
