The number of e-mails being received the United States House of Representatives has apparently caused their servers to come to a screeching halt.
The Associated Press reports that the amount of e-mails received was also causing slowness and latency issues on the primary House website: www.house.gov.
AP also reports that "new technology" called "load balancing" has been put in place to prevent future spikes on volume. (I find that part really interesting since load balancing technology for web servers has been around for well over a decade. Good to know the House of Representatives is dealing with some cutting edge stuff, huh?)
In any event, keep writing...keep e-mailing...keep calling. Speak. Your. Mind. It is our responsibility as a society to keep our Government in check. I'm not talking about Denial of Service. I'm talking about community organization.
Melt those servers down.
