Last Saturday, I was once again a guest on my friend Niel Young's program which airs on WEZS 1350AM in Laconia, New Hampshire.
During the course of the program, there was a caller named Ray. He had called to thank Niel for making people aware about his charity event which had gone successfully. Before he got off the phone, he wanted to speak his mind with regard to John McCain's pick of Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate.
Ray asserted that Gov. Palin shouldn't have brought her baby, Trig, in to the world. He thinks that Palin should have aborted her son when she found out he was going to have Down's Syndrome because her political career means she won't be around to take care of him.
That's when things got...heated. Eventually, I wound up calling Ray an imbecile--and it was a word I meant in its most literal form. I was not calling him a retard; I was stating that his mental process had, quite literally, been retarded--and in Ray's case it's because of his liberalism.
I'd like to say I am shocked and stunned. Unfortunately, this person's attitude mirrors a lot of liberals out there and it's thoroughly disgusting.
