Well, here we go again...
The rain has let up and the sun is peeking through the clouds on this debate day here in Manchester, New Hampshire. No doubt a welcome site to the campaigners and protesters that will line St. Anselm's Drive leading up to the site of tonight's debate between Republican Presidential hopefuls.
It will be interesting to experience the drive into St. Anselm's College and see exactly how many people really are chanting and yelling. I suspect it will be less...we'll see if I'm wrong in a few hours.
Today, I think that one of the biggest challenges will be for Arizona Senator John McCain. McCain has been particularly critical of those opposing his compromise bill on illegal immigration. This would include a substantial number of the GOP base--the very same base that McCain is hoping to woo this Primary Season.
There might also be some fireworks between John McCain and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney tonight, as well.
Look for (illegal) immigration to be a big issue in this debate tonight.
Also on the agenda will likely be Iraq, Iran and the Global War on Terror. (You know...that thing that John Edwards says is a "bumper sticker.") It will definitely be an interesting night.
More from the Spin Room at St. Anselm College later on this afternoon...
