I don't often deal in activisim. It's not what I'm here for. Today, though, I find it difficult to avoid.
So, go to your phone, pick it up, and dial this number:
202-456-1111
That's the White House Comment Line. After you press "1" to indicate you're calling from a touch-tone phone, you'll get to speak to a live human being who will transcribe your comments for the President word-for-word.
Call that number and tell the White House how you feel about this travesty of an "immigration deal." People in the West Wing read this feedback every single day and it does get noticed. They know people who call this number are informed people who also vote regularly.
Do it now.
Then, call your elected representatives. I called mine yesterday...well, the Republicans, anyway...
Senator John Sununu's office says that they expect him to come out against the deal and he's consistently voted that way his entire time in the Senate.
Senator Judd Gregg's office had no idea how he was going to vote.
202-224-3121
That's the number for the Capitol Switchboard. They'll connect you to your Senator or Congressman if you don't know their number.
If you've ever been inclined to bitch about something or want to yell at your elected representative, this is how you do it.
Do it now.
