OK...so, here we are. February 2nd. Groundhog day.
Bill Murray jokes aside, this is the day where people in a small Pennsylvania town gather to find out the prediction on winter weather from their furry little prognosticator.
If he doesn't see his shadow, it'll be an early spring.
If he does see his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter.
Do people get that there are SIX MORE WEEKS OF WINTER ANYWAY?!?!? No, really! There are six weeks to go until the vernal equinox. (That's the start of Spring for those of you keeping track.)
Here's the other thing (from the AP):
According to the Groundhog Club, Phil has now seen his shadow 96 times, hasn't seen it 14 times and there are no records for nine years. The last time Phil failed to see his shadow was in 1999.
He sees his shadow about EIGHTY PERCENT of the time!!! They've been doing this since 1886 and he's seen his shadow almost 100 times!! I'm THINKING there's a TREND here!
Well, anyway...the little rat saw his shadow AGAIN today. Oh, the shock of it all. Where's that DVD? I need to watch that now that I've ranted.
"Ned?? Ned Ryerson??"
