Conservative Blogger: Oh Where Have You Been, Charming Billy?...

Greetings to you, my friends. It's been some time since we've convened here in this court of public opinion known as Conservative Blogger. I've been away for a while, and I figure I should at least catch you up on details. The last month has been a real challenge for me, especially when it comes to keeping ConBlog updated.

The last month has seen:

  • A significant family emergency

  • A trip to the great state of Georgia for my nephew's graduation from high school

  • A very quick trip to St. Louis, Missouri for work

  • A house purchase
  • Going in reverse order, I finally decided to join the "Ownership Society" and am closing on my first home on June 30. It's an exciting time and I can't wait. What a process. Now I know why they say buying a home is one of the most stressful times in your life! Pretty soon, I'll be painting and moving and, ultimately, unpacking. That's the part that always sucks, doesn't it?

I also took a 2-day trip down to St. Louis on a work trip. I did get to see the Arch, but it was on my way to getting lost in East St. Louis at 1:30am. I'd have liked to have stayed longer and maybe catch a Cardinals game, but it was just nice to see the sun for a change.

I spent a bit more time in Georgia for my nephew's graduation and it was just a great time. I'm so proud of him---and would be even more proud if he's finished with his applications like his Mom keeps hounding him to do. Yet, I digress... Time with family is always wonderful and we'll all be back down there before we know it for his sister's wedding.

The month kicked off with a family emergency that we're all still trying to deal with. I can't provide many details, but things are at least moving in the right direction. When I can say something about it, I will...but that could be some time.

So, after all of that, life is getting back to normal.

In the last month, I've missed out on commenting about traitorous Republicans, decisions handed down by the Supreme Court, Howard Dean and all kinds of things. I'll catch up on some of it, because I think that there are still some things that need to be said. You'll see some of that in the near future.

I also sat down recently and watched both "Outfoxed" and "Fahrenheit 9/11" on DVD and I'll have some comments and perspective.

As always, if it's newsworthy and (more importantly) interesting, it's fair game. Thank you all for your patience and your emails. I'm back and it's time to get back down to business.
